Factory vs middleman — the core question
Much of the lash glue on the market is white-labeled from a few factories and marked up through trading companies. Before anything else, find out whether you're talking to the people who actually formulate and QC the product, or to a reseller three steps removed. Everything below flows from that.
The 12-point supplier checklist
- Can I see your actual production line (video or visit)?
- Do you control the formulation, or only resell a stock product?
- Do you provide a Certificate of Analysis and batch record per lot?
- Is there a manufacturing date printed on every bottle?
- What is your tested formaldehyde level — in writing?
- Is the adhesive NMP-free (and can you prove it)?
- Can you send the SDS, INCI, and test data now?
- Are you FDA-listed and can you support my MoCRA product listing?
- What is the real MOQ, and can I mix SKUs?
- How fast are samples, and how fast is a production run?
- Who do I talk to for reorders — and how fast do they reply?
- Do you offer clinical patch-test or stability data for qualified partners?
Red flags
Vague answers about origin, no manufacturing date on bottles, "trust us, it's safe" with no test number, no SDS/CoA, and communication that routes through a sales agent who can't answer technical questions. Any one of these should slow you down.
Green flags
